After only four years of breeding, Sonny Lagon with his Blue
Blade Sweater - Crosses has undoubtedly established himself
as one of the most formidable rooster-raisers in the Philippines
today.
Guided by his strong friendship Bruce Barnett of Blackwater,
Alabama (the "hidden" breeder behind the Blackwater line),
Sonny Lagon has evolved from a neophyte gamefowl farmer in
1999 to be among the bests in the local cocking scene.
With his superb-fighting Blue Blade Sweaters, Sonny Lagon
has won among others, the prestigious United Cockers Association
of the Philippines Stagfighter
of the Year title in 2000, 2001 & 2003; several Cocker
of the year finishes; numerous big time derby championships
including the most recent NCA Grand National 8 Stag Derby
held at Araneta Coliseum, 480-entry P8.8M Roligon 10th Anniversary
7-Cock Derby and the 142-entry Balbina Cup 2002 7-Stag Derby
in Negros last October with a perfect 7 win score fielding
stags trained and conditioned at the Blue Blade Farm in San
Pablo City.
Through his entry Blue Moon, Sonny was undefeated as he closed
the 2002 stag season in November with a 5 win-2 draw-performance
during the "Bakbakan 7-Stag National Derby" at the Araneta
Coliseum hosted by the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders
Associations.
For 2003, Lagon starts his renewed bid for the elusive Cocker
of the Year Award with a sterling 7-0 win-loss card for a
solo victory during the UCAP 7-Cock Derby held at the Mandaluyong
Coliseum last February 4 & 6 hosted by Danding Cojuangco
& Major Bobby Doromal.
Young at 34, a telecommunications engineer, successful in
business, daring, good-looking, well-mannered and generous,
but humble and down-to-earth, Lagon epitomizes today's generation
of cockfighters and gamefowl breeders: the generation that
will make sure that cockfighting will be here to stay.
THUNDERBIRD congratulate BLUEBLADE FARM of
Engr. Sonny Lagon for winning the LAGBA Breeder and Stag fighter of the year SOLO back to back 2009 and 2010.
